The State government will look into the alleged corruption in the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) and take action against those involved in the fraud in operating the KSTDC taxi terminal at Bangalore International Airport.

Replying to a question by Opposition Leader H D Kumaraswamy during Question Hour, Tourism Minister R V Deshpande informed the Legislative Assembly that he has already suspended one person and will initiate further action. Kumaraswamy alleged that a few KSTDC officials are cheating the taxi drivers operating from the airport, besides looting the government money.

He also charged that the funds have been transferred to various private firms while a notional amount was deposited in the KSTDC account.

“He alleged that he has documents to prove that the officials have cheated crores of rupees of both the government and ‘poor taxi drivers’. Deshpande sought details of the charges from Kumaraswamy and promised him that action would be initiated against the accused.
