'Biscuits for Anganwadi children'

Minister for Health and Family welfare, U T Khader said the State government will distribute Ayush Pushti biscuits to children below five years through anganwadis.

Minister for Health and Family welfare, U T Khader said the State government will distribute Ayush Pushti biscuits to children below five years through anganwadis.

He said here on Wednesday that the biscuits will be prepared by Ayush Department with herbal ingredients. “As a pilot project, the biscuits will be distributed to anganwadis of a taluk where  highest malnutrition among children is reported. The taluk is yet to be identified. The government will support the Ayush Department with funds and infrastructure for the preparation of biscuits.”

He also said the government has decided to distribute free mobile handsets and sim cards to Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) soon. As many as 35,000 ASHA workers will be benefited. “The mobile phones will be used to message government orders related to the job of ASHA workers,” he added.  Khader also said each taluk will have an integrated medicine hospital, where various Ayush doctors will be available.
