Need to establish new taluks: Prasad

The state government has not dropped the idea of forming new taluks in the state initiated by the previous Jagadish Shettar government, Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad said on Monday.

The state government has not dropped the idea of forming new taluks in the state initiated by the previous Jagadish Shettar government, Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad said on Monday.

He told reporters that to establishing a new taluk requires a minimum of `5 crore. Once the required grant is mobilised, the government will take a call on establishing  new taluks. He said there is a need to establish new taluks keeping administrative issues in view.

He also said the officials are directed to implement the Manaswini scheme effectively that would support the distressed women.
