RTI Activist V Shashidhar has filed a petition in the High Court contending that Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanth drew salary from HAL, Bangalore, as an employee and also received honourarium from Zilla Panchayat from 2000 to 2008 as its member, violating the HAL service rules.
The company’s rules do not permit its employee to contest any local body elections, he contended and sought directions from the court to register an FIR against Vishwanath for cheating, criminal breach of trust, misappropriation and causing loss to both Central and State governments.
Hearing the case, Justice A S Bopanna ordered notices to the Home Secretary, City Police Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Station Officer of Yelahanka police station and Vishwanath to file objections in the case.
