Sharpshooter Rashid Malbari Granted Bail

Sharpshooter Rashid Malbari was granted bail in a case under Arms Act by the Second Additional District Court on Thursday.

Though Malbari has been granted bail in this case, he will continue to remain in judicial custody as he has a few more cases, including one in the High Court, pending.

Malbari has been in the district jail since 2009. He was convicted of possessing illegal arms and sentenced to five years imprisonment in August this year.

In October, he was granted interim bail, but he continued to remain in jail due to the pending cases.

He had also attempted to murder Chota Rajan in Bangkok in 2000.
