CPM Bats for Better Economic Policies

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday released its manifesto which aims to introduce better economic policies for the country

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday released its manifesto which aims to introduce better economic policies for the country.

CPM state secretary G V Srirama Reddy told reporters that the manifesto speaks of prevention of crony capitalism, more production, employment-oriented       growth and infrastructure development focused on the requirements of the common man.

He said: “We want to defeat the Congress and BJP. Both parties have promoted neo-liberal economic policies which have badly impacted our industrial and agrarian production as a result of which the country has suffered. They have also given way to excessive inflow of foreign money and goods and favored many corporate companies.”

“Education and healthcare have been privatised completely and people don’t have access to free education and healthcare. Ninety per cent of the people in India are suffering because of this,” he said.

Reddy said it was dangerous for the country if Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi becomes the prime minister.
