The Election Commission’s decision to include transgenders in the voters list looks to have  made the community a force to reckon with.

On Monday, T Bhavana  and a large number of supporters took out a rally in the state.

Bhavana, who is contesting as an independent, said, “I can provide a corruption-free administration as I do not need to save up for my future generations. I am concerned only about development. I will focus on improvement of infrastructure, houses and ensure drinking water for all.”

Bhavana, whose election symbol is a gas cylinder, promised to fight to remove the cap on subsidised cylinders by taking up the issue in Parliament, if elected.

People made generous contributions to the campaign and promised to vote for her. The road show was conducted at various parts of Chitradurga city in an open vehicle.
