Mine owner Tapal Ganesh, who is fighting against illegal mining, on Monday released documents to prove a nexus between BJP candidate B Sriramulu and Babulal Parashuram Puria, whose house was recently raided. Election officials raided the house over alleged hawala laundering.
Ganesh released a letter sent by Sriramulu in 2006, who was the then tourism minister, to Mysore Minerals Limited recommending the release of 27,801 tonne fine iron ore to the mining firm. The document was released after Sriramulu claimed he did not know Puria.
Ganesh alleged that Puria has been involved in the transport and discounting of iron ore of Janardhan Reddy’s Obulapuram Mining Company. He demanded an explanation from Sriramulu for the recommendation letter.
