Poor light and high decibel noise forced Medical Education Minister Dr Sharanaprakash Patil to shift his office to the third floor of the Vidhana Soudha. Dr Patil, a first-time minister in the Siddaramaiah government had his office in the second floor of the Soudha. Dr Patil’s office has now been moved to the room numbers 301 and 302 in the third floor, facing the High Court and has better ventilation and natural light. The rooms remained vacant after Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy shifted his office to the adjacent Vikasa Soudha recently. Speaking to Express, Dr Patil, who is engaged in campaigning for Congress candidates for the April 30 Lok Sabha election in the Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh, said, “I was told by the officials about the shifting of my office from the second floor to the more comfortable third floor in the Vidhana Soudha”. “I have shifted my office to the third floor on account of poor light and a lot of noise from nearby chambers and not because of any Vaasturelated beliefs”, he said. It may be recalled that two ministers in the Siddaramaiah government had invited wrath for renovating their offices after demolishing supporting walls in the Vidhana Soudha. Forest Minister B Ramanath Rai and Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya received brickbats recently for renovating their offices, ostensibly on the grounds of vaastu and razed supporting walls to the ground.
