Road Traffic Survey from Feb 18

Public Works and Ports and Inland Water Transport Departments will conduct the survey at 3,351 points in the State

A road traffic survey will be conducted between February 18 and 20 at 3,351 points in the State by the Karnataka Public Works and the Ports and Inland Water Transport Departments.

The survey for the year 2014 will be conducted on State Highways and major district roads between 6 am on February 18 and 6 am on February 20 to assess the traffic volume on different categories of roads in Karnataka. This will enable the government to take decisions on which roads need to be upgraded to handle extra capacity.

The chief engineer, Communication and Buildings (South), said assistant engineers/junior engineers would be in charge at the count posts for the period of the survey and asked for cooperation from the public for the exercise.
