K-SET Students Cry Foul Over Key Answers Released by UoM
The final key answer sheet released by the University of Mysore, which conducted the recently-held Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET), allegedly still contains wrong answers, much to the chagrin of the candidates who had alerted the UoM authorities.
Mahadevappa S Bhasgi, one of the candidates, told Express that the examination section of the varsity failed to take note of the mistakes despite objections.
The exam was held across the state on December 8 and the first key answer sheet released on December 31.
“Candidates who appeared for the Political Science Papers II and III were shocked to see the first key answers. We filed objections with regard to the answers for question nos. 17, 18, 27, 31, 43 and 46 of Paper II and 22, 48, 55 and 74 of Paper III. After this, the second and the final key answers were released on February 1, but the mistakes were not corrected,” Mahadevappa alleged.
Bhasgi said question no 17 of Paper II is ‘The traditional approaches to the study of Comparative Politics neglected: (A) Study of Governments (B) Description of Institutions (C) Comparison of Constitutions (D) Empirical Investigations.’
The K-SET key answer sheet says (B) is the right answer,” he claimed. “But option (D) is the right answer as per the textbook ‘Comparative Politics and Govt’, written by U R Gai,” he claimed.
Question no. 22 of Paper III was: ‘Constitutionalism is intimately related to (A) The party of system (B) The form of government (C) Separation of power (D) Rule of Law.
The key answer sheet wrongly states the answer as (B), while the correct answer is (D), Bhasgi added.
The answers to 10 questions have been marked wrong and even those who answered correctly stand to lose 20 marks.
So K-SET should release the right answer sheet, he said.
