'Third Front Full of Opportunists'

Venkaiah Naidu says the attempt of the non-BJP, non-Congress parties to come to power will be defeated

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday dubbed the Third Front a total mismatch and said it will not come to power at the Centre.

He was speaking after inaugurating a party workers, meet of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency.

Terming the Third Front 'a combination of opportunists' who come together whenever they want, he said the attempt of the non-BJP and non-Congress to come to power will be defeated.

He predicted that the people will reject the Third Front as all leaders in this combination of parties are aspirants for prime minister's post.

Dubbing the Third Front directionless, he said they are in for a disappointment.

Modi wave and corruption charges against Union ministers will favour the party in the state, he said and called upon the party workers to work 15 hours a day till the Lok Sabha elections conclude. "Each worker has to meet at least 100 people and convince them to vote for the saffron party. Make use of the social media to reach more number of people," he added.

BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi accused the Centre of failing to act against foreign vested interests who are trying to take advantage of Indian Muslims who are patriots. She accused the Centre of aiding foreign forces and harassing Indian Muslims.

BJP leader Harshvardhan said there was no AAP wave in the state.
