Former chairman of the Tata group Ratan Tata inaugurated a welcome arch of Putthige Moola Mutt at Puthige near Hiriadka on Monday.
Putthige Mutt pontiff Sugunendra Theertha honoured Tata with the replica of ‘Ratna Ratha’ (a chariot made of gems dedicated to Lord Krishna by the Swamiji during his Paryaya period) and also presented a miniature carving of a Bhagvad Gita shloka on rice.
Ratan said: “I was given the invitation during my meeting with the swamiji in New York sometime ago and since then I was on my toes to visit the divine vidyapeetha here. During my visit I found joy and peace and enjoyed the divine hospitality.”
Putthige seer said: “At present, Ratan Tata feeds over 20 lakh people. Feeding at least one person makes a man successful. Feeding over 20 lakh people means a lot. Lord Krishna will bless Ratan. We want Ratan Tata to celebrate his centenary celebrations here.”
