A proposal to field a few ministers in the coming Lok Sabha elections has been placed before Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
KPCC sources told Express on Wednesday that the issue of directing ministers to contest the Lok Sabha elections did not figure in the meeting with AICC president Sonia Gandhi recently.
However, Minister of State for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda told Express that there is no such proposal before the high command.
Reacting to reports appearing in a section of press about possibilities of the high command asking him to contest the LS elections, he said he will shoulder any responsibility entrusted upon him by the Congress.
He said possibilities of drafting ministers to face the Lok Sabha elections is the creation of the media. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already clarified on the issue," he said.
AICC had fielded him in the 2009 LS polls from the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency and lost to BJP’s H N Ananthkumar.
