Rwandan Died Due to Drowning

The police have confirmed that a Rwandan student died due to drowning a week ago.

According to the police, Elisaphan Tugirimana (24) from Kigali in Rwanda, went on a picnic to KRS dam in Srirangapatna taluk. He was a third-year BSc computer science student from Brindavan College in Bangalore.

High Commissioner of Rwanda Ernest Rwamucyo along with counsel for Rwanda Mohan Suresh visited Mandya at around 9 am on Wednesday. They also visited the place where the student was buried and completed the formalities to take the body back to Rwanda.

The police said Tugirimana and his friends had consumed liquor. While his friends went to have food, Tugirimana went for a swim in the backwaters.
