Litterateur Girija Passes Away in D’gere

Veteran woman writer, thinker, social activist and artiste T Girija died at her Davangere residence in the early hours of Thursday. She was 78.

DAVANGERE: Veteran woman writer, thinker, social activist and artiste T Girija died at her Davangere residence in the early hours of Thursday. She was 78.

According to her family, she died around 5.30 am in her room.

As a writer Girija believed in women’s empowerment. She has written ten Kannada novels including ‘Avivahite’,’Ilijaru’,’Mugilaminchu’ and ‘Benki Belaku’.

She has also written historic novels like ‘Durgotsava’ and ‘Durgada Digvijaya’.
