MANDYA: Mandya Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner K Mathai was given police protection after he claimed his life is under threat.
Mathai had exposed the irregularities allegedly taken place in the site allotments by MUDA.
He had submitted a report to the government in this connection.
The names of Housing Minister M H Ambareesh and other prominent political leaders were also mentioned in the report for allegedly buying sites through illegal means.
There were protests from Ambareesh’s supporters in front of the Mandya Urban Development Authority office. SP Bhushan Gulabrao Borase said,”Based on the intelligence report, we have deployed a platoon of District Armed Reserve police in front of the MUDA office.”
