BANGALORE: The State Cabinet, which met here on Wednesday, has decided to extend the service of R G V Murthy, Special Secretary to Law department, for another year with effect from July 1. According to official sources, the decision to retain the services of Murthy for another year was taken as the cases before the Krishna and Cauvery Water Tribunals are in crucial stages. Murthy, one of the experts in the inter-state water dispute cases, is closely monitoring the progress of the cases involving Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
