Teacher Flogs Students for Mocking Him

YADGIRr: The science teacher of Model Primary School at Madwar village of Yadgir taluk has been suspended for brutally beating his students.

According to sources, the students were mocking their teacher Shankar from  afar on Thursday during their last period assuming he would not see them. However, Shankar saw the students were mocking him. After the national anthem at the end of the class, he asked the students not to leave the classroom and beat them with a stick. In all, 22 students suffered injuries.

A few students also developed fever following the beating, sources said.

The parents of the students held a meeting at the gram panchayat office chaired by the GP president.

Following the Gram Panchayat president’s complaint, Block Education Officer K Prabhu visited the school on Friday morning and inquired about the incident. Yadgir DDPI D M Hosmani told Express that based on a report of the Block Education Officer, he suspended Shankar and deputed another teacher in his place.
