'Run Bullet Train Between Mysore, B'lore'

MYSOREThe Mysore Chamber of Commrce and Industry (MCCI) urged Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to take initiatives to introduce a bullet train between Mysore and Bangalore.

In a memorandum submitted to Gowda during his visit to the city on Sunday, a delegation, led by MCCI president A S Sathish, said 19 trains are plying between Mysore and Bangalore on a single line.

The track doubling should be completed soon to avoid inconvenience to passengers, Sathish said.

The delegation also demanded that work on the Mysore-Madikeri rail line be started immediately after completion of the survey.

“The rail line would help coffee growers who will be able to get employees from neighbouring districts of Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar. It will also boost tourism in the area,” Satish said.

MCCI also urged Gowda to pursue the Mysore-Neelambur via Sulthan Batheri railway line.
