Spl Pooja for Sultan of Oman Held

An NRI performed ‘Chandika homa’ and a special pooja at Shree Devi Annapoorneshwari

MANGALORE; An NRI performed ‘Chandika homa’ and a special pooja at Shree Devi Annapoorneshwari temple in Hosanadu, Kodyadka Kshetra near Moodbidri recently for good health and prosperity of Sultan of Oman Qaboos Bin Said Al Said.

The Chandika homa was performed on the request of NRI Jayarama Heggade who is also founder trustee of the temple that is spread over a sprawling seven acres of land. The homa was performed between 8 am and 12.30 pm. “Jayarama Heggade, an entrepreneur residing in Sultanate of Oman for over 40 years, admires Sultan of Oman Qaboos for not discriminating against Indians and for respecting all religions,” said Prasad who is serving as the manager in the temple.

“Out of his respect and admiration for the Sultan of Oman, he instructed us to perform Chandika homa,” he said. Over six priests under the guidance of Narayan Tantri performed the pooja.

After the pooja, thousands of devotees were served with a delicious meal at the temple’s dining hall, ‘Annapoorna.’

The meal much to the delight of devotees also included three to four sweets, Prasad said.

Jayarama Heggade had conducted a similar homa when Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister.

Impressed by how an ordinary tea vendor went onto become the PM, he had organised ‘Gana homa’, ‘Mruthyunajaya homa’ and ‘Chandika homa’ to ward of all obstacles before Modi.

Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt, Udupi temple, who had laid the foundation stone for the temple was also present during the homa, Prasad said.

More than 4,000 devotees participated in the special homa.
