Council Pays Tributes to Journalist

BANGALORE: Rich tributes were paid in the Legislative Council to senior journalist H S Ranganath, 72, (Meese Ranganna),who passed away here on Saturday night following a massive cardiac arrest.

BJP member Tara Anuradha informed the House of the demise of Ranganath and appealed the Chair to move a condolence motion.

Deputy Chairman Puttanna moved a motion and said, “The unfortunate death of veteran journalist

Ranganath, who was a known face in the field, is a great loss to journalism.” Opposition Leader K S Eshwarappa and House Leader S R Patil, expressing shock over his death, recalled their cordial relationship with the journalist.

The House, after observing a minute’s silence, was adjourned for 10 minutes.
