‘Will Complete All Airport Projects Soon’

All pending airport projects in the state, including Gulbarga, Bijapur, Hassan, Bellary and Shimoga will be completed soon, said Minister of State for Civil Aviation G M Siddeshwar.

DAVANGERE: All pending airport projects in the state, including Gulbarga, Bijapur, Hassan, Bellary and Shimoga will be completed soon, said Minister of State for Civil Aviation G M Siddeshwar.

He was speaking at a press conference at Anagodu after reviewing the release of Tungabhadra water to Anagodu tank. If the aviation industry suffers heavy losses, the ministry will take steps to rejuvenate it with the advice of the Union Finance Ministry, he said.

“I have a dream of building an airstrip in Davangere. Around 500 acres is needed for the purpose. I have already consulted the Deputy Commissioner in this regard,” he said. Efforts are on allot land for the airstrip near Karilakkenahalli village, he added.

Siddeshwar said he would meet the DC after the Parliament session and chalk out a plan for the airstrip.
