Cycle Pure Agarbathies, a city-based incense stick manufacturer and part of the NR Group, has bagged the franchise of the Mysore team for the upcoming Karnataka Premier League-2014 (KPL).

MYSORE: Cycle Pure Agarbathies, a city-based incense stick manufacturer and part of the NR Group, has bagged the franchise of the Mysore team for the upcoming Karnataka Premier League-2014 (KPL).

Arjun Ranga, partner of NR Group, said: “We are extremely delighted. The team will be a platform to promote talent at the grass-roots level. It will have upcoming cricketers from Kodagu, Chamarajnagar, Nanjangud, T Narsipur, Hassan and Mandya.”

He said the company’s vision is to ensure that in the next 3-5 years, at least two players from the team make it to the national arena.

Modelled on the lines of IPL, the Twenty-20 match to be organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) will witness competition between seven teams. The third season of KPL will commence on August 23 and conclude on September 13. The first phase of the tournament will be hosted in Hubli and final phase in Bangalore. The finals will be held in Mysore on September 13.

Over the years, NR Group through its flagship brand Cycle Pure Agarbathies has become one of the leading brands to be associated with cricket.  The company had launched the widely popular ‘Pray for India’ campaign during the ICC World Cup in 2011.
