Cricketer Robin Uthappa’s mother Roselyn has filed a complaint against her husband A Venu Uthappa with Suntikoppa police accusing him of assaulting her with two relatives recently.

Cricketer Robin Uthappa’s mother Roselyn has filed a complaint against her husband A Venu Uthappa with Suntikoppa police accusing him of assaulting her with two relatives recently.

According to details obtained by Express from the police, Roselyn has named Venu, and two others — Verghese and his wife Manjushri — for allegedly attacking her physically and mentally harassing on April 19, 2014.

The duo, who reside in Bangalore, had been to Venu’s house during which they picked up a fight with the cricketer’s mother.

Later, she filed a complaint against Venu,  Verghese and Manjushri  under  IPC Sections  498A, 504, 341, 326, 506 and IPC Section 34, it is said.

When contacted, the family sources revealed that the husband and wife will be made to sit face-to-face and settle the matter amicably.

Venu Uthappa is also an international hockey referee from Kodagu.

While Roselyn is a housemaker, her son Robin represents Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing Indian Premier League-7.

He had in previous IPL editions played for Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
