BANGALORE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s newly-formed Cabinet on Tuesday came under attack from the state Congress.

“The BJP has ignored social justice as dalits and minorities got a raw deal in the new ministry,” KPCC chief  G Parameshwara said. After participating in an event to observe the death anniversary of former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, he said contrary to expectations, senior Dalit leader Ramesh Jigajinagi did not get a berth.  Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya said even Veerashaivas got a raw deal, as G M Siddeshwara has been made just a MoS.

However, state BJP chief Prahlad Joshi expressed optimism and hoped the state would get greater representation when Modi expands his ministry.
