HUBLI: Slamming the BJP leaders for claiming that Modi wave will ensure them a win in Legislative Council polls, Janata Dal (S) leader Basavaraj Horatti said the election will be fought on personal plank and not on any emotion.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of Vasant Horatti’s election office here on Friday.

Horatti is contesting as JD(S) candidate for election to West Graduate (WG) constituency of the Legislative Council. Asking party workers and his followers not to be complacent, Horatti pointed out that the election was being fought in a different scenario. He recalled that he had won his first election in 1980, when the Indira Gandhi wave had swept the country.
