Belgaum Session in December: CM

BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said the winter session of the legislature will be held in Belgaum’s Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in the second week of December.

Rubbishing Opposition charges that the government was afraid of a backlash from sugarcane growers, Siddaramaiah termed these allegations mischievous. The Cabinet would meet on November 12 and decide on the session’s schedule, which is expected to last for 10 days.

Criticising BJP legislator and former minister Umesh Katti for demanding a separate state for North Karnataka, the chief minister said, “He (Katti) seems to have lost balance after losing political power.” The media should not give any importance to his statements, he said.
