BENGALURU: The High Court on Monday granted the state government time till Friday to give details of deliberations between CM Siddaramaiah and Governor Vajubhai Vala on the action to be taken against members of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). The names of KPSC members were mentioned in a report submitted by the CID.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee and Justice B V Nagarathna granted time after Advocate General professor Ravi Varma Kumar informed them that action had been initiated. When the bench asked what action has been taken against the tainted KPSC members, Ravi Varma Kumar said it was very difficult to remove them as they have been vested with powers by the Constitution. “They are more powerful than judges of the HCt,” he said.
The bench is hearing a public interest petition filed by activist T J Abraham against the alleged irregularities in recruitment of gazetted probationers by KPSC in 2014.
