BENGALURU:The long-felt need for a state government-owned property in India’s business capital Mumbai, on the lines of the Karnataka Bhavan in national capital, will soon be fulfilled.

The new, spacious Karnataka Bhavan will come up at Navi Mumbai to cater to government functionaries and dignitaries from the state. It will boast the best accommodation and other amenities to meet the needs of ministers, officials and other dignitaries who visit Mumbai for their official work.

The Karnataka Bhavan is being built at a cost of about Rs 22 crore on a 27,000 sq ft plot which was provided by the Maharashtra government to Karnataka seven years ago. The land, which now belongs to the Karnataka Public Works Department (PWD), has been handed over to the state-owned Mysore Sales International Ltd (MSIL), which has an office there for its trade-related activities.
