SHIVAMOGGA: A team of officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) visited the incomplete Shivamogga airport in Sogane village near here on Tuesday. The visit has rekindled hopes of the construction work at the airport resuming again.
The visit, following the State Government's letter to AAI, has added to the buzz that the State Government might hand over the construction work to AAI. The team comprising AAI Chennai Region Executive Director TS Chandramouli, Goa GM Engineering General Manager MNN Rao, AAI Electrical Division Junior General Manager Raghavendra Rao, AGM MS Ravindranath, Communication Division AGM GK Venugopal and AGM Sundar inspected the airport site and held discussions with the local officials.
