BENGALURU/KOCHI: Anand Mathew, son of Kerala High Court Judge Justice Babu Mathew P Joseph died in a bike accident in Bengaluru on Monday night.
Anand, 20, of Mulavukad, who was a semester-IV Law student at Christ College, was riding pillion on the bike when the accident occurred near Dairy Circle, Hosoor Road, Bengaluru. Anand’s friend Prince was riding the motorcycle.
According to the police, the motorcycle collided with another bike and the duo fell on the road. While Prince escaped with minor injuries, Anand suffered severe head injury. He was rushed to St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, where he succumbed to injuries on Tuesday early morning.
The body was brought to Kochi on Tuesday. It will be kept at the residence of the deceased at Judge’s Avenue Road, Kaloor, until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, for the public to pay homage.
The funeral will be held at Ponnarimangalam Karunya Matha Church, Mulavukad, at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. Anand is survived by mother Seema and brother Dr Manu Mathew.
