2 From Bengaluru Die In Mandya Accident

MANDYA: Two people died on the spot and four others were injured when their car hit a lorry at Hanakere taluk in Mandya on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway on Saturday night.

The victims have been identified as Harikirhsna (25) and Srinivas (26) of Mudalapalya in Bengaluru. 

Vinod (22), Moula (23), Prasanna (24) and Vinod alias Kulla (22) were the injured. All of them work at a local factory in Mudalapalya. They were on their way to Nanjangud. 

They left Bengaluru at 7.30 am and at 11 am the driver lost control over the vehicle which hit a barricade, then rammed into a lorry heading towards Bengaluru.

Police rescued the four and admitted them to a hospital. Prasanna, who sustained serious injuries, was shifted to a private hospital in Mysuru.

 A case has been registered with Mandya Rural Police.

Two Killed

Two people died on the spot when their motorbike collided with a KSRTC bus near Kolegal Kere in HD Kote. Sunil (23) and Nagaraja (37) were going to Mysuru from their home at Beechanahalli village. After post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the family members. Police have taken the bus driver into custody.

4 Killed as Tree Falls on Vehicle

Madikeri: Four people were killed  when a tree fell on a tempo traveller at Boikeri  on Madikeri-Kushalnagar Road on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Aruna, Manjula, Nagamma and Chikanna, all residents of Mandya.

They were returning from Dharmasthala.

Police sources said that five more passengers sustained serious injuries.
