BENGALURU: After receiving an overwhelming response from Telangana, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is all set to supply Nandini Milk to Mumbai too.
According to KMF president P Nagaraju, there is abundant demand for Nandini Milk in Mumbai. KMF has already received order for bulk supply of 2 lakh litres of milk a day from the private dairies of Mumbai.
In continuation of supplying milk outside Karnataka, KMF had taken up a survey for supply of milk in Mumbai too. The survey revealed that there is abundant demand for Nandini milk in Mumbai. Steps have been taken by KMF for co-packing of one lakh litres of Nandini milk in tetra-pack with Mahananda Dairy, a cooperative organisation in Mumbai.
Presently, KMF is supplying Nandini milk to Telangana. Around 71,000 litres of milk a day is being supplied to Telangana.
KMF also said that the amount due to milk producers is in the range of 2-4 weeks and that the dues would be paid expeditiously.
No Reduction: Referring to reports published in a section of the media, KMF clarified that there is no reduction in milk procurement price from the existing Rs 5 per litre.
