BENGALURU: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has finally started its enquiry into the single-digit lottery scam that rocked the state a few months ago.
On Monday, the agency registered a case against Pari Rajan, who is said to be the kingpin of the racket.
Confirming this, a CBI source said, “Apart from Rajan, cases have been registered against a few others as well, whose names will be disclosed in the course of the investigation.”
A release by the agency stated that cases have been registered against Rajan under Sections 120 (B), 188, 420 and 34 of the IPC, and Sections 5 and 7 of the Lottery Prohibition Act. The case was earlier registered at the police station, Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prohibition Wing, Kolar.
