The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has invited applications for its free short-term hospitality trade courses.

BENGALURU: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has invited applications for its free short-term hospitality trade courses under the Hunar Se Rozgar Tak (HRST) scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.

Training will be imparted in modules such as food and beverage service (six weeks), food production (eight weeks) and bakery and patisserie (eight weeks). A stipend of Rs 1,500 for a six-week programme and Rs 2,000 for an eight-week programme will be paid, stated a  release.

Candidates who have cleared Class 8 and in the 18-28 age group can apply.

Train Cancellations: Because of the ongoing doubling work between Hosadurga and Chikjajuru, 16578 Harihara- Yesvantpur Express, 56913 Bengaluru City-Hubballi Passenger, 56917 Bengaluru City-Shivamogga Passenger and 56914 Hubli-Bangalore City Passenger scheduled for Friday has been  cancelled.

Coach Augmentation: An additional AC Chair Car has been attached to the 12007/12008 Chennai-Mysore-Chennai Shatabdi Express till November 15.
