State Higher Education Council's Website Hacked

BENGALURU:The website of the Karnataka State Higher Education Council was hacked on Thursday by a group calling itself Clinkz48.

The homepage of the website (http://kshec.ac.in/) has an image of a man laughing and holding a wine bottle saying: “Cyber Team Rocks” and the message “Hacked by Clinkz48.”

The hackers have also said: “Your data belongs to me. F*** Your System India,  Noob!!”

When contacted, Council vice-chairman S V Ranganath said, “I am busy elsewhere and the executive director is also out of town. I am sure they would have attended to that as the executive director runs the show.”

As per the latest data released by the National Crime Records Bureau, Bengaluru has reported the highest number of cyber crimes among the 53 mega cities.

The statistics show that Bengaluru has seen 657 cases under the IT Act-2000, followed by Hyderabad (386), Jaipur (317) and Lucknow (205). State-wise statistics reveal that Karnataka is in the third place as far as cyber crime is concerned with 1,020 cases.
