Three More Farmers Kill Themselves in State

KALABURAGI/HUBBALLI/MYSURU: A debt-ridden farmer committed suicide at Sasargaon village in Chincholi taluk on Monday morning by hanging himself in his house, police sources said.

The deceased is Nagappa Hadpad (42). Hadpad owned three acres and had availed a loan of `2 lakh from private moneylenders for agricultural purposes. A case has been registered.

In Hubballi, a farmer committed suicide by consuming poison in his house on Sunday night. Basappa Agadi of Tirlapur village in Navalgund taluk lost his onion and cotton crop grown on 10 acres. He had also borrowed around `3 lakh from financial institutions and private lenders.

In Musuru, a farmer committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday. Annegowda (55) of Thippuru village in KR Nagar taluk was rushed to a KR Hospital where he succumbed. He had taken a loan of `2 lakh from private money lenders.
