Silver Jubilee of Seer’s Ascension

SRINGERI: The town is all set to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the ‘Peetarohana’ of Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamiji, the 36th Jagadguru of Dhakshinamnaya Sharada Peeta, established by Shankara Bhagavatpada 1,200 years ago.

Dasa Laxa Gayatri Japa will be held on Saturday and thousands of devotees from all over India will participate in the Gayatri Japa chanting. On Sunday, Laxamodaka Ganahoma will be performed.

A felicitation function will also be held in the evening where the Jagagduru will bless the devotees.Sri Bharathi Theertha became the Jagadguru on October 18, 1989. The Mutt, during the past 25 years, has been an outstanding institution, engaged in religious and social initiatives.
