Vala Seeks More Information on KPSC Names

BENGALURU: The controversy over the State government’s list of names recommended for Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) took an interesting turn on Saturday with Governor Vajubhai Vala seeking more information about the nominees.

According to secretariat sources, the Governor has sought more information on the antecedents of V R Sudarshan, recommended for the post of Chairman of KPSC, and Syed Ulfat Hussain, Prof Govindaiah, Ragunandan Ramanna, Ravikumar, Nagabhai Bulla and Michael Simon, recommended for appointment as members.

The Governor is said to have asked Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee to provide complete details and Mukherjee is expected to submit it on Monday after discussing the issue with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

When Express contacted Mukherjee, he said he had no such information from the Raj Bhavan. However, secretariat sources reiterated that such an instruction has been received from the Raj Bhavan.
