BELAGAVI: Five months after a controversial name board was removed from Yellur village in Belagavi taluk, Crusaders, a Belagavi-based Marathi cultural organisation, has come out with a drama on the incident.
‘Mee Chouthara Bolatoya’, which was staged in a competition here on Wednesday highlights the ‘cruelty’ of Karnataka Police against ‘innocent’ Marathi people.
It may be recalled that some people of Yellur had erected a board at the entry of the village which stated ‘Maharashtra Rajya Yellur’.
The district administration removed the board but some youths reconstructed it on the same night. The police demolished the board the next day and had to use force against protestors.
