Former K’taka AG No More

BENGALURU: A N Jayaram, former Additional Solicitor General of India and former Advocate-General for Karnataka, passed away on Friday.

He was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General in the Supreme Court  in 1995. As Advocate-General for Karnataka between 1999 and 2004, he represented the state on high-profile cases such as the Cauvery water disputes, abduction of thespian Raj Kumar by Veerappan, Bangalore Palace properties and administration of the Roerich/Tataguni estate. He also served as president of the Bangalore Bar Association and International Commission of Jurists (Karnataka Section) two terms each.
