Insurance Scheme for APL Families

BENGALURU: The state government will launch health insurance schemes for government employees and those holding Above Poverty Line (APL) cards on Monday.  Health Minister U T Khader told reporters on Friday that the Sanjivini  health scheme for government employees and Rajiv Arogyashree for the APL cardholders will extend upto a maximum of 70 per cent of the treatment cost with an upper limit of Rs.2 lakh.  If the patients opt to get treatment in special wards, they will have to bear 50 per cent of the total treatment cost.“If the treatment exceeds more than Rs.2 lakh, then one will have to obtain permission from the government to claim additional aid,” the minister said.
