No Let-up From BJP on KPSC

BENGALURU: BJP MLCs B J Puttaswamy and Ashwathnarayan knocked on the doors of the Raj Bhavan on Monday to submit a memorandum urging Governor Vajubhai Vala to reject the nomination of former Congress MLC V R Sudarshan to the post of KPSC chairman.

The move comes two weeks after a party delegation, led by state president Prahlad Joshi, submitted a memorandum with a similar demand. Puttaswamy and Ashwathnarayan, however, could not meet the governor and submitted the memorandum at the Raj Bhavan secretariat. Later, the leaders told reporters that they had submitted additional documents on the charge against Sudarshan that he had acquired a ‘G’ category Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) site by submitting a false affidavit.

Meanwhile, the BJP has decided to lay siege to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s residence on Wednesday, protesting the transfer of Lokayukta SP B A Mahesh, who was investigating a case on the recovery of over 1,000 BBMP files at the residence of Congress MLA Munirathna.

Ashwathnarayan said Siddaramaiah was attempting to shield the MLA and demanded the immediate reinstatement of Mahesh.
