BENGALURU: Bengaluru Rural police on Monday detained three persons suspected to have robbed a factory worker after opening fire at him at Hoskote Industrial Area near Sulibele. The incident was reported on December 17. Five bike-borne men had shot at and made away with `7.3 lakh from Rajasthan-based Virendra Gupta.

A senior police officer said, “We are questioning three suspects, said to be his colleagues. They seem to have planned the robbery well in advance after learning about his financial transactions. We will reveal the details only after the investigation is complete.”

Virendra Gupta was on his way to his factory along with his friend Manjunath when the incident took place. A gang came on bikes and opened fire three times with a pistol. Gupta received bullet injuries on his thigh and chest and was rushed to a private hospital, where he is recovering.
