BENGALURU: THE Lokayukta Special Court on Tuesday reserved the order over a private complaint seeking directions to the Anti-Corruption Bureau or High Grounds police to register a complaint and probe Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee’s disclosure that a person tried to bribe him for a favourable verdict.
The order is likely to be pronounced on Saturday.
RTI activists S Bhaskaran and Jayakumar Hiremath had filed the complaint and have mentioned two witnesses -- the Chief Justice and one K Narayanashetty -- in the petition.
The High Grounds police had recently declined to file a complaint in this regard, instead informing the activists to take up a legal battle in court of law.
On July 5, Chief Justice Mukherjee, while hearing a revision petition filed by Umrah Developers against the Revenue Department and the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban district, disclosed that a visitor had tried to buy a favourable verdict.
After disclosing this in open court, Justice Mukherjee had recused himself from hearing the case.
