KASARGOD: The engine of Maveli Express, going from Mangalore to Thiruvanthapuram, caught fire near Cheruvathur station Saturday evening.
All trains on the route are delayed, said station manager at Nileshwaram.
An engine has been sent to bring the train back to Nileshwaram, he said. None of the compartment has caught fire and the situation is under control, he said. He spoke to the driver and there is no casualty.
Trains on the route are held up at various stations.
The station manager is expecting a delay of one to two hours in clearing the piled up traffic. Long distance train will make up the time in running, he said
