BENGALURU: Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd (KIOCL) on Saturday clarified that the notice regarding convening of a meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary to the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department was not delivered to it on time. An intimation was delivered to KIOCL over email at 12 noon on August 17 but the meeting was scheduled at 11 am the same day, it said.
KIOCL authorities conveyed to the office of the Additional Chief Secretary vide letter on the same day regarding the matter and requested for an immediate re-scheduling at a convenient date.
In a release issued on Saturday, KIOCL officials confirmed that they had no intention of skipping the meeting on the issue of sublease of 30 buildings and a guest house by KIOCL to a private group for running a commercial health resort within the protected area of Kudremukh National Park. It added that it was prepared to clarify on the issues sought by the Department.
