Head-on collision: 2 youths dead

TUMAKURU: Two youths died when the motorbike they were riding collided head-on with a KSRTC bus at Batawadi circle in the wee hours of Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Balaraju alias Balu (27), who died on the spot and  pillion rider Mahadev (26), who died on the way to NIMHANS. Both of them were close friends and residents of Goraguntepalya.

They had attended a friend’s wedding at Siddaganga Mutt and consumed liquor at a bar in the city before heading towards Bengaluru. They intended to go through a underpass but got confused as they were new to the place.Instead they took the wrong direction towards Naveen Regency road. Meanwhile, the police at a check post tried to stop them but they managed to escape. They hit the Sirsi-bound bus at around 1 am, the police who were eye witness to the incident explained.

24-year-old stabbed

A B.Tech graduate who was all set to go to USA for a job was stabbed to death over a trivial issue on Monday. Vinod Royal (24) from Tirupathi along with his friends came to Kolar to attend a private programme which was inaugurated by actor Suman.  The friends reportedly entered into a heated argument over their movie idols Pavan Kalyan and Junior NTR, which led to the murder. brought dead.
