Drought Relief: Govt Releases Rs 100 Cr for All Districts

KALABURAGI:  The state government has released Rs 100 crore, including the highest of Rs 10 crore each to Kalaburagi, Belagavi and Vijayapura districts under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for providing drinking water and fodder and to open goshalas, officials said here on Tuesday.

Bidar, Yadgiri, Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts have been given Rs 5 crore each, Raichur Rs 4 crore, Bagalkot, Bellary, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Bengaluru (Rural), Bengaluru (Urban) and Chikkamagaluru districts got Rs 3 crore each.

Haveri, Chamarajnagar, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Uttara Kannada, Mysuru and Tumakuru districts got Rs 2 crore each and Kodagu, Mandya, Dakshina Kannada, Ramanagara, Shivamogga and Udupi districts got Rs 1 crore each.

The amount has been credited to the Deputy Commissioner’s office last Saturday.

The order states that the amount should be spent as per the guidelines of the Union Government for drinking water supply, goshalas and for fodder.

The DCs should submit the expenditure statement compulsorily, said the order.
